NIC BORTOLIN

NIC BOrTOLIN
Nic is originally from Reno, NV and is a former music teacher and professional trumpet player. He began homebrewing in college and his passion for craft beer was intensified while studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic. Nic got his start professionally at a start-up brewery outside of San Diego under the tutelage of a former ‘macro beer’ Brewmaster. There he enjoyed brewing aggressively hoppy beers and helped develop an award winning barrel program while working his way up to the role of Head Brewer. After moving to California’s Central Coast, Nic became part of a brewing team that was known for brewing classic styles and honed his skills in lager brewing. There he was a part of 6 Great American Beer Festival medals, a World Beer Cup gold medal, California Craft Brewery of the Year, and dozens of other local and international awards. He is a graduate of the American Brewers Guild Brewing Science and Engineering program and is a member of the Master Brewers Association.
